There’s a dynamic way to get involved with campus events.. plan them! The Students organization Committee (SOC) is asking students for their ideas about what events to host on campus. LSUS students are invited to come to SOC meetings on Mondays at [1 pm] and let the Committee know their ideas for student life events.
The LSUS SOC is responsible for organizing the multiple student organizations here on campus. LSUS has over 70 students organizations. SOC members want more students to get involved with student organizations and student events.
Campus organizations aim to help students network with new student and develop leadership skills. For example, the Society Human Resource Management at LSUS was established in 1965 and now boasts over 11,000 student members over the years. Organizations include such groups as the Biology Club, the Greek Life to Sports Clubs, art and drama clubs and Student Media.
Fernecia Phillips from Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority[promotes unity and friendship among college women] talked with the Almagest about their organization Phillips stated “TE (Tea with TE) was a week that we brought back to LSUS.. since 2010 when we were first chartered…we’ve had great participation.”
Whether a student wants to help plan events or wants to join an organization, getting involved is beneficial and a great way to improve your college experience. Students can learn more about different organizations at www.lsus.edu
